I owned & managed a preschool in the US.

My two adult children resides in the East Coast & West Coast US - yes I do miss seeing them, but instead I babysit :-)

While I was in the US, I operated a small laungage school for Japanese children for 16 years. We ran the school like a preschool, and also had a parent - baby class, and Nihongo classes for older children. Over 200 children enrolled over the years, and I still maintain great relationships with them and their families!

I love children, they teach me so much! I studied early childhood education in the US, but I learned more by just spending time at my school, talking and playing with my students. I see each child's potential, and can help them grow.

My babysitting carrier started when I relocated in Fukuoka in early 2021. As I was popular at the matching site, I decided to be a freelancer. I believe it makes it way more affordable.

I lived in Seattle area for the last 25 years, so I'm pretty fluent - I was an involved parent (not a helicopter type, I hope!), have lots of experience in classroom volunteers and such. I am confident I can provide you with reliable babysitting service. Please contact me for more details!

Me & My Family

I enjoyed raising children! - it went by so quickly though! We were super busy with two student athletes, running around in all sorts of directions. I'm glad I'm over with that part of my life, (thankfully I was a lot younger then!) but I do miss it too.

We surrounded ourselves with books, and always ate dinner together as much as possible. Both my kids went through a Montessori preschool, then onto a unique multi age classroom public elementary. Both of them attended the "most diverse public high school in the US" - that background sure helped them became who they are - very aware and active on social issues!

After graduating from Kenyon College, my son now is a paid researcher / PhD student at John's Hopkins University, studying Chemistry. I hear that he picked up playing soccer again lately (I was a soccer mom of 2 for 13 years!!). 

My daughter loves to work out, is a big foodie, and also loves K-Pop! She graduated with honors from California Polytechnic State University, and now she's at Sac State doing MS/DI program, working towards becoming Registered Dietitian. She's spent lots of time in Japan, and she knows more restaurants than me in Fukuoka!

Not like my sciencey kids, my hobbies include visiting variety of bakeries in town, listening to rock music, and knitting! My partner loves craft beer, so if he's not playing disk golf, we are often seen in beer stand together in town :-)
